Description
Agreement under which a copyright owner (of both recording and the composition in a song or songs) grants a non-exclusive perpetual license to a company wishing to ‘sync’ the content to a video, audio-visual or multimedia production including TV shows, films and video games.
In remuneration for the license granted the company will pay the licensor a defined upfront ‘sync fee’. Further income may be received by copyright owner via collection societies and in this respect the licensee has the obligation to submit the cue sheet of the ‘production’ the musical credits to the applicable collection society.
